"Follow the leader, a simple concept and idea, easily understood, right? However, this 'follow the leader' is different, and it's not a game, it's real life. This artwork represents an understanding that, for me (as a parent, as a Father) becomes more and more clear every single day: My son, my boy, my child, will always be amazing. And, as he's grown into young adulthood, so has my admiration and respect for him, well beyond the given of parental pride. As he faces the challenges of everyday life, and as he tackles problems of growing complexity, I simply sit in awe. I have even stood up from that seated position and have run toward (for him, then with him, and now slowly but surely behind him - as time has passed) the greatness he is becoming, following my son - the incredible man he is becoming.
